Back to Biking

Before Ryan moved to St. George, he had this hobby of downhill mountain biking. Small problem with St. George, no place to do this particular hobby. So he kinda put it on hold. Now that we’re back in Provo, he decided to trade one of his guns for a bike. He has been so excited to get back into biking!

He asked me to drive him up Provo Canyon and drop him off. Here’s some photos from our little adventure today:

I am still stunned by this beautiful new place we live in!

Maylie was doing yoga.

New bike and new gear.

Kisses for Daddy!

He actually beat us to the bottom! He was one sweaty, but happy guy!

The Jeep overheated (oops), and it took us awhile to get it up and running afterward, but overall I’d say Ryan’s first ride on his new bike was a success!

Maylie Monday: The Haircut

So as I mentioned in my last post, I'm going to start doing "Maylie Mondays." I will just talk about Little Girl and post some recent pictures. Mostly though, it's a way to help me blog a little more!

Maylie was looking kinda ragged. Her hair is still baby thin, and she started this bad habit of pulling it out as a soothing method. Kinda counterintuitive if you ask me, but to each his own. Not only was she pulling her hair out, she was pulling it out in a specific spot. She was starting to look like one of those horrible stars that only shaves half of their head.

We decided we had to cut it. A pixie cut would make the bald spot less discreet. So we had it cut. I was so nervous about it, but it turned out so cute! I still love it, and it's a thousand times easier on me than pigtails every day!

Check out the before and after:

Busy. Busy.

It seems like we are never home. Which is so good because we are getting to have all these wonderful experiences! Like last weekend. We went to the Palisades with Ry's family and Riki's in-laws. The trip was so chill. We relaxed, played, and ate some of the most delicious food possible while camping.
Check out the pics courtesy of Riki's blog On the Reals:

We found an private lake up in the mountain.

Most of the group decided to go for a swim and wash the dirt off.

We were a dang mess. Thanks for the adventure Laws and Sanfords :)
So that was our weekend! School picks back up for me next week, so I am sure we will slow down on the vacays here soon!

Also, I've been thinking of starting something with this blog to help me post more frequently! I'm wanting to do "Maylie Mondays," since most of you are only here to see how little girl is doing! I will post something new she is doing, a random post regarding May, or just some cute new pictures of her. What do you guys think, good idea or just lame?

Watch the Sunrise. Check!

Okay, just kidding. I'm not exactly a bucket list type of person. Don't get me wrong, I think it's way cool to have goals and things you want to do in your life time, but I have never actually thought much about what I actually want to do. Sure there are things that I think that would be cool to see and do, but I don't get overly excited about any of them.

But watching the sunrise is something everyone should probably do. I am not an early riser, so this is not something I have actually done. And if waking up at six to watch the sun come up isn't enough, we decided we needed to hike Mount Timpanogos to view it. I also haven't exercised in months, so clearly when my brother-in-law asked if we wanted to go on a 3+ hour hike up a mountain at 2 am I couldn't decline.

I seriously didn't want to get out of bed for days, that's how bad my legs hurt. We didn't even go all the way to the summit and I am still a wreck.

I am so glad to be able to say I hiked up a mountain (okay, half a mountain) to see the sunrise, but I think once was enough for me and my poor legs. Thanks for the adventure Mount Timp.

Illinois.

We went to Illinois last November for Thanksgiving, but this is the first time in five years that I have been back for the Izard/Petersen Golf Outing. This year was the 20th annual outing, so it was especially cool to be able to go this year. The golf outing is an outing my family puts on every to contribute funds to a bone marrow transplant fund at the University of Iowa. Way cool. We spent the rest of the trip swimming, fishing, and hanging with family. Here's some photos from the trip:

May helped with the raffle, and thanks to Tal and Lex for entertaining May most of the day!

May loved swimming with Grandpa!

And taking walks with Papa to the lake.

This girl is obsessed with water!

She even watered Grandma's plants!

We went to dinner with Mimi and Poppy one night, and we tried to take some family pics after. Everyone looked great, except May and I. We pretty much look like this in every pic.

My dad really wanted to take May on a boat ride 'cause it used to put Joey and I to sleep when we were little.

But she just wanted to drive.

And then she loved it when Papa started to go fast.

She loves fishing too. Every day since we have been back, she asks me to "catchafish."
