Thanksgiving Travels

I haven't been back to Illinois in a very long time! None of us could quite remember when, but I think we decided it was right after I graduated high school. 2008 seems like forever ago! So I was so grateful to get to go back to my grandparent's house for Thanksgiving. This was the first time they met Ryan or Maylie! We had lots of fun, and Maylie and Grandpa became best buds (they both really like to wake up early). Anyway, thanks to Grandpa and Grandma for having us! I hope it doesn't take us another 4 years to get back there again!!

Snuggling with "her" bear. So cute with Uncle Joey.

Maylie started giving "tours." She grabs your hand and takes you around showing you things.

She's got a little problem.

Happy Halloween!

Even though this was not Maylie's first Halloween, it was the first time she was able to (kind of) participate! She was so cute! She was a bumble-bee, though we didn't bother with antennas-- No way would those ever have stayed on her head! We had to reassure her to go up to each house, but after getting her candy, she kept trying to go in the houses. Everyone was very nice and just laughed at her! She sure is getting big!

I asked her to smile... This is what I got.

Love the Swindlehurst's! Second year trick-or-treating with Ethan Man

I was trying to get a smile out of her :)

She was too busy to be bothered with pictures.

Candy please!

Daddy helping May figure things out.

May's haul! Not too shabby for her little hands :)

Happy late Halloween everybody!!

Picture Perfect

Aimee-Lee is our go to photographer. And let me tell you why.

1.

She is totally down for shooting in bizarre locations. I didn't want typical bridals, and loved the idea of a rural setting. Though I didn't know any places nearby that were off-beaten-path, Aimee sure did!

2.

She caught real, honest moments at my wedding. Moments I didn't even remember happened until I was flipping through the photos. Not to mention she took FOUR disks worth of pictures.

3.

She was even able to make me look cute while sporting an extra 34 lbs. of pregnant. That deserves an A+ in my book.

4.

She spent 4+ hours with us to ensure we got adorable newborn shots.

5.

She's so creative. Our photos are always unique, and I always get compliments on them hanging around our house.

6.

She's been able to capture all of the important milestones of our family, and I have never been disappointed. And, I mean, who else would drag a picnic table, giant chair, balloons and cake out to a "swamp" just to get awesome photos?

Seriously, she's the best. Check out her blog here to see the rest of May's first b-day photos!

Hanging at the Temple

So I swear I really did intend to be a better blogger, and I think I even put in a good effort for awhile! But then school kicked back up and I haven't taken a single picture or even thought of this sad little blog for about a month! Until this last weekend!

We went to up north for Logan and Karlee's wedding, they looked awesome, but naturally none of my photos are of them. We only caught a few of Miss May playing on the temple grounds.

Happy girl

Isn't she pretty??

This face kills me
She was loving the Temple doors

Perfect little seat
Our little family

It was a super busy weekend, but it was lots of fun. I'll try to take more pictures and keep the blog up to date!! Sorry!!

Meet Baby Dax!

We made a quick trip to Provo this week to meet our new nephew, and he sure is a cutie! Seriously, he is one gorgeous newborn. Congrats to Myke and Aubz on their new addition! They are gunna be great parents!

May didn't really care much for little Dax, but this picture sure is sweet.

May looked so sweet sitting next to Uncle Myke, so we go to take a picture and this is the face she pulls.

Wet & Wild

Ry and I are really lucky. Like super lucky. Blessed is probably a better word for it. We have lots of awesome family and friends that make it possible for us to do things without Maylie around. Now that kind of sounds bad, I know. However, any young family will tell you how hard it can be going from a duo to a trio. Babies are wonderful.  They bring so much love and happiness into your lives you never knew existed… But they also take like 99% of your time and attention, which doesn’t often leave a lot of time to be a couple. Which is where our awesome family and friends come in. We have had lots of little trips and nights away together, and thanks to the Swindlehurst’s we were able to go to Lake Powell this last weekend! I had never been and I love the water, so needless to say I was stoked!
Ry and I could only go for a day and a half, but the Chamberlin’s were super sweet to let us tag along on their trip. We had a blast and definitely enjoyed a little baby-free time! Here’s our quick trip to Lake Powell:

Rik and I in our super cute new swim suits.

He's a stud.

And a show-off :)

He was a little wore out from wake-boarding

Riki was pretty good too.

I did get up my first time ever wake-boarding.

But mostly I spent my time like this.

And this.

And then Kali got up and put all of us to shame.

Then they built a super-sized slip and slide.

Which looks WAY fun, but it was also slightly painful.

We went cliff jumping... I'm not sure what I'm doing here, but at least I jumped right?

He has a death wish, I swear.

Isn't he so handsome?

Apparently my husband loves to roll rocks. Like a lot. He had been trying to find a good one all day long, and finally he settled on this bad boy.

Rolling

Success!

Ry's battle wounds.

This climb was a little disappointing, at least it made for a cool pic.

Now if only I had cute toes like these girls.

Love these two.
